We invited five avid cyclists from Miami-Dade and Broward Counties to tell motorists how they really feel…
* The first voice you hear is Jim Chiarello, owner of Jim’s Bicycles in Deerfield. He rides his bike about an hour a day, five days a week.
* Second in the lineup is KC Boutiette, the four-time Olympic speed skater and owner of Elite Cycling and Fitness in Miami.
* Third, and the person who gives South Florida a “minus 10″ for motorist manners, is Hank Sanchez-Resnick. He lives on Key Biscayne and is a member of the board of the Green Mobility Network. He bikes to the mainland almost every day.
* Next is Alex Ruiz, who owns and runs the Miami Beach Bicycle Center with his family.
* And last but not least: Celia Conti, of Plantation, is an avid cyclist and also a member of South Broward Wheelers, which will be hosting the Adopt-A-Bike Ride on Nov. 7 to provide bikes and helmets to low income, disadvantaged and special needs children and adults.
You can tell us how you feel too, in the comment section below.
